New treats provide incentive!

Sunday, August 12, 2012

To make tracking simple, I eat a lot of the same foods regularly: oatmeal, tuna, green beans, bananas, apples, whole wheat bread, low-fat cottage cheese, baby carrots...you know the drill! But sometimes I get tired of the same-old-same-old, and go searching for something new.

Today, I'd run by the store, and noticed they had The Laughing Cow cream cheese wedges on a BOGO sale, so decided to get some as it'd been a long time since I'd had any. Enjoyed a section of the Strawberries and Cream flavor (45 calories) spread on a graham cracker as a bedtime snack...yum yum! Earlier in the week, I had picked up a bag of the Quaker Quakes rice snacks in cheddar cheese flavor. I use a half-serving (about 9 of the chips) in place of a bread to liven up a meal.

When you want a treat that doesn't involve a major calorie splurge, what fills the bill for you?

Good for you for realizing that a little variety can help. I enjoy the snack size chocolate pudding when that chocolate craving hits. emoticon

It is good to try different things. That will keep you from getting bored with eating the same things. Have you tried the Sugar Free Puddings? Also, Blue Bunny Sweet Freedom Ice Creams. I have a 1/2 cup a few times a week. Be sure to try the Banana Split flavor. Yummy! This is peach season. Try some fresh peaches. Punch the flavor of your foods up with spices. Experiment with them to see what strikes your palet with good favors.
