Yes, know it's been nearly a week since my last blog...I've been here, just didn't have much to say last week and then was out of town for the weekend.
Highlights of the last week
~my longest run to date...18.7 miles in 2 hours and 55 minutes. I started a little before 6am, knowing full well that the forecast was calling for it to be around 70* and rainy with a chance of t-storms...and it did. Rain-some light, some heavy...some rumbles of thunder-a few a little too close for comfort...lots of puddles and very clingy running clothes. I did 3 loops of ~10K from my house, so I was able to stop at home if needed during my run. I had 20 oz of water with me and some fuel. I didn't drink much the first half of my run...the rain felt pretty good and was keeping me plenty cool. Once the rain stopped, you could really feel the humidity and I slowed down quite a bit (I had been averaging 9 m/m for the first 8 miles or so). I started drinking my water and taking some walk breaks, which helped. I also ate my stinger waffle after my first loop. I ended up with an average pace of ~9:30 m/m, which I am more than content with. I'd like to have started out slower, but I was just running what was comfortable. I was pretty sore the next day, but felt better today. Looking forward to my 20 miler in 2 weeks.
~finding a yummy recipe for beets. It was basically a roasted beet salad with strawberries, blue cheese crumbles and red wine vinegar. Yummo!
~getting to visit with some of my dearest friends.
~spending time with my new boyfriend.
~having some yummy fresh produce in my fridge.
Areas for improvement:
~I didn't track food.
~spent the weekend at basically one big party and ate WAY too much.
~didn't have time to get in a workout today.
Seeing as how you can't exercise away a bad diet...I guess I have some work to do. Thank goodness for new days!
Make tomorrow great!
Goals for tomorrow:
80+ oz water
Workouts: 5-7 mile run, kick boxing or 30 day shred
Make good food choices
In bed by 11:00 pm
