Boat update

Sunday, August 12, 2012

Today's work included fiberglassing the deck then trimming the excess fiberglass from the inside of the cockpit and along the upper edge of the hull where the the deck fiberglass wraps around the first couple of inches of the hull. It looks beautiful and I'm very pleased!

The footbraces are in plus 6 handmade pad eyes under the deck. I plan on getting some shock cord and stowing a water bottle and maybe my camera if waters are calm.

Next up...two more coats of epoxy on the deck, install the coaming, cut hatches, and install bulkheads.

I'm getting close! =)

Paraphrasing the popular naturalist Bill Mason, we could say there is nothing that is so aesthetically pleasing and yet so functional and versatile as your kayak.
