Since when does one day feel like a week?

Sunday, August 12, 2012

I've been to the gym Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this past week.
I was going to go again this morning, but my cellist friend came over and spent the night. What fun we had! We stayed up until nearly 5am practicing, talking about music, sharing different experiences with performances and teaching, sharing teaching methods, and listening to music. I gave him a violin lesson in exchange for a cello lesson.
Apparently, every time I teach him or play for him, he wants to change his primary instrument to violin. I'm glad I can be such an inspiration.
I have new cello etudes to work on now, and when school starts up I'll be starting some new pieces.
School starts up in a couple of weeks and all I want to do is practice all day! Haha

Despite all of the musical fun I was having, I found that I really wanted to work out. I kept thinking that it had been a week since my last workout and that I was slacking off. In reality, it is just one day off. Well, I'll get to go to the gym tomorrow, so yay!

Ah! exercise must be becoming a pleasurable habit! emoticon
I remember when I used to sit and play with friends for hours! Becoming immersed in your music is such a wonderful gift!
My favorite "sheet music" store is closing here... after 70 years in business! It breaks my heart! I understand about the internet taking away business, and people just do not go to the "music store" anymore. I can close my eyes and still smell the sheet music! How I loved searching through the file cabinets for just the right piece, and being so proud to take it home and learn it.
Right now my bowling is a pleasurable exercise. I must get back to using my Wii(although DH had threatened me if I EVER use the bowling game again...) on a daily basis.
Hope you have caught up on your sleep! LOL!

What a pleasure and privilege to be so immersed in music!

Enjoy the gym today, I think a fit body will make us all better at what we do, including playing music!

Woohooo, what a pleasure to spend that much time playing music and enjoying music with a friend! How wonderful to be such an inspiration, too!

A day off from the gym isn't a bad thing. Only if it sidelines you from getting back to it, and it doesn't sound like it does. Have fun at the gym today.
