So I'll Write a Blog.....

Sunday, August 12, 2012

just before I return to work full time at the office.

Things may be a bit blurry and crazy next week, so....

Firstly, I have some clarification on Bright Sided and Positive Psychology for Dummies. We are talking apples and oranges here....both very good for you, but different fruits! The Dummies book takes some basic positive psychology concepts and gives practical advice. Kind of boring, but not crazy.

Ehrenreich, on the other hand, at leas as far as I have read here, is talking about some weird stuff, like believe you will make money and dollar bills will float in your window, with proponents using science such as quantum physics to support this. Strange.

Other than that, chores are all done and I am ready to roll. I am truly ready to go back, I have learned that I do not have the whatever it takes to work only from home....too confining, and I like to be around people.

And, here is the most exciting thing, at least for me.

At the end of August I will have one year to go to retirement. I think the time will fly! So wish me luck, as I enter the last journey of my working career, and get more active in planning my retirement!

So, wish me luck, emoticon

The book by Ehrenreich sounds interesting. I love reading books where the author is "out there." It is always enlightening to listen to a different perspective....
Congrats on returning to work Bonita and continued success in your recovery!

That reminds me of when I was listening to "The Secret" on audiobook. It was utterly preposterous, positing that if you think positive thoughts enough, you will emanate "vibrations" that will attract these good things to you. Their examples were mostly material possessions. I tried it out at an ice-skating marathon; as I skated and skated around, I kept repeating to myself, "I will win the raffle prize. I will win the raffle prize." I figured, "Why not try it? I don't have anything else to think about!" Of course, I didn't win the raffle prize, ha ha!

"The Secret" is idiotic; however, I must admit that when I was painting while listening to it, I was incredibly freed up, creatively speaking. I had the best painting session! So there is SOME benefit to it, I guess.

Are you saying dollar bills WON'T be floating in my window? What if I think really really good thoughts?
Congrats on your soon-to-be retirement! And congrats on being in a wonderful place right now~:-)

emoticon You are really close to retirement! I have at least 3 years to go; fortunately I like my job, but how I would like time to do the things I want to do.

Hahahahaha about the money! I think that only applies to rich people. emoticon The rest of us schlep along making ends meet. I have a lot of positive energy and thoughts about money, but it just doesn't fly through my window. Darn!
