Getting back into routine

This past week has been spent getting back into a routine for me. I have learned a vary valuable lesson, when my life changes I get off track.

At the beginning of June I moved from MI to AL. I also moved in with roommates after living on my own for quite some time. This definitely was a huge change in my life. I started out okay trying to get exercise in every day, continue my with my eating habits and making time for myself. Then it stopped.

I can blame it on the schedule of my roommates (one of which is my boyfriend); that they are night owls, but in reality is always my choice. I made the choice to fall into their unhealthy eating habits (eating out, eating out of boxes & cans, high sugar foods, etc), unhealthy sleep patterns and began to ignore the much needed "me time."

This past week I have really focused on me, my values and how I want to live my life. I have made the decision to reset my schedule and routine to something that I feel comfortable with.

I am back on my exercise streak, starting with a basic 10 minutes a day which usually turns into more. I am back to getting my 9+ cups of water a day. I am back to spending at least 30 minutes a day on myself and my goals.

I made the choice that I am going eat the way I want to and if the others want some that is fine, but I am tired of feeling guilty every time I eat. I also have been feeling sluggish and have been having intestinal issues, both of which are due to my nutrition.

I have even gotten back into my card making. This is something I haven't really done a ton of for the last couple of years. It is so relaxing, I can't believe I stopped.

As many of you may know, my passion is helping others along their journey. I have had a huge bout of feeling guilty because I was neglecting myself, which is something I help others avoid doing. I am putting my own words into practice and finding that they really do help. I think I should start listening to myself more often. :)

    Great job taking "the bull by the horns"!

You have had a lot of changes this summer and it's going to take time to work everything out. I am sure your boyfriend understands what you have to do. He knows how hard you worked to lose weight.

I eat totally different than my husband. He loved fried foods and eating out all the time. I will only eat out with him Thursday and Saturday nights. He's on his own the rest of the time! If we go out to lunch at work, I will only go to the Chinese restaurant - he's on his own the rest of the time since he eats junk.

Don't feel bad about it. We make our choices and they make theirs. We aren't going back!!

    emoticon You made a great choice to take care of you. I too have to get back on track and with my son starting school back this is the perfect time for me to do this too. I am proud of and for you. Thanks for motivating me to do the same.

    Good job getting on track after having some big life changes! A disruption to your routine (where you live, who you live with...) is a big adjustment and you've realized that you need to make yourself a priority! emoticon emoticon emoticon
