To challenge or not.

Sunday, August 12, 2012

Most teams have challenges, I have been a participant in many, but for me they are not a priority. If its a challenge to lose weight I then feel I am a failure if my scales do not show a loss. Other challenges are time consuming.
I try to be a good team member, I huddle I join in chats and games, questions and so on.
I co lead 2 teams so I do know how difficult it can be to find interesting topics and things to keep members interested. If having a contest work for you I m happy for you. I enjoy my teams and made many good friends on Sparks. I have personal commitments at home which have to take priority so I prefer not to join team challenges.
Please don't feel I m not a full team team member if I say Sorry but I don't do challenges.
Irene

We each do the best we can, and it's what ever works for you, for some of us the chit chatting and visiting is enough to keep us going, others may need that challenge, whatever works for you Have a great day!

    HI DEAR REE!
    I COULDN'T AGREE MORE. I DON'T LIKE CHALLENGES EITHER.

MY PHILOSOPHY IS TO DO THE BEST I CAN PERSONALLY , SHARE WHAT I HAVE LEARNED TO DATE-THAT IS-

AND TO HOPEFULLY SET A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR OTHERS.

WE ARE EACH UNIQUE IN OUR CAPABILITIES SO CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH.
CHATTING AND MAKING NEW FRIENDS IS AS IMPORTANT AS ANY OF OUR GOALS.!

WE ARE HAPPY TO HAVE YOU AS PART OF OUR TEAM.

    HUGS, PAT

I love Spark People.....and I am so glad to be a member but it is time consuming if you do everything.....especially if you have slow internet which wants to stop and start.....Like I have!!! So I do very little...I like to chart my food and read my friends blogs when I can. I think it is more important to spend the time eating and exercising than doing team things. After saying that I also think that it if I had not had my team friends who kept me on track I would not have gone as far as I did. I think the key is finding the balance.. that is the hard part.

We are all different and I love teams that are active with everything. Chat for support, games when I am working for points or when I am bored and tend to want to eat things I shouldn't, and questions to answer and most of all for me is the challenges.
    I do thrive on them.

    Hi Irene
Challenges do take a lot of time and its hard at times to know what members want and we are all different in what we like and what benefits us we all can't like the same and i agree we have things at home we need to do. i am like you i like having the support of my Spark friends as hike along the trail.
I always enjoy hearing from you each day and you have stopped and picked me up on the trail and often i am sure you did not know it. it s your kind words and cherry smile when I stop by your page

I agree on the challenges. If you aren't motivated yourself, a challenge isn't necessarily going to work!

Everyone is different . I use to do more challenges at the beginning but don't want the responsiblity that goes with it right now !

Spoken like a Gold Medal Winner ! Thanks Irene , I agree, although I did lose my 5% this time , but does not mean that I will next time , circumstances may be different. Slow and easy is the best way for your body , heart and well being. Also , feeling guilty about not corresponding to every email or comment can leads to stress, especially if you are a caregiver to an older individual , have children , have an illness or just have a life. Who can sit in front of a computer all day? I cannot , plus I try to read as many people's blogs as I can but , I am not Superwoman ! Hugs Karen
    OK maybe Wonderwoman lol

I join very few challenges Irene. Life has a way of screwing up best intentions. I'm just trying to visit each team daily and I huddle. I track my food and exercise but that's about it other than blog. If that makes me a bad team player or co-leader, then that's the way it has to be. I'm here to better my health and maybe along the way learn a few new things. Making friends would be a bonus, but I can't make people like me. Either they do or they don't.
You do what works best for YOU!!! Noone else. emoticon emoticon
