On the road

Sunday, August 12, 2012

For those who learn from other people's mistakes, always plan for "quick trips" to take longer than you thought. We went to pick up a canoe from my parents and 1) I didn't take my insulin which was just DENIAL because I knew we would be there at lunch and 2) take foods with you. I knew my parents are vegan and didn't think that the meal would have less protein than I needed. But I should have planned it better. Sometimes I think that I self sabotage on a subconcious level

On the other hand I had a nice time visiting with mom. She is the epitime of gracious southern lady of the Melanie Wilkes variety. Honest and true to herself, she is so gentile in the best way. I wish sometimes I could be more like her but alas, I am what I am..,..not quite as self absorbed as Scarlett but I have my moments.

Needless to say, with road food for dinner because of the delay, I didn't make my caloric/nutritional goal for the day. I will start again today to try to make a week of making my goals.

That's a good idea Livie1231! You might want to also freeze some of the bottles of water to keep snackage cool. I'm trying to explain to everyone my nutritional needs.
Hope you have a good visit.' emoticon

Glad you had a great visit with your mom. I will definitely be packing some snacks for the 12 hour drive to mom's in october. Especially brining bottled water because the prices at the gas stations are outrageous!!
