Still alive

Saturday, August 11, 2012

Hey everyone. Its been months. Life has been hectic. I cant even begin to describe my world right now. I will say that I did meet a guy at work, we dated for about a month before he decided to break things off. I spend half my time thinking it's my loss, but the other half knowing its his.

I have maintained between 255 and 260 all summer. The last few weeks have seen their fair share of chocolate and wallowing though, so I really need to get back to it. I know its hard to loose not only the guy, but the all the hopes and dreams that went along with said guy. And all of you who know me, know how much I wanted someone great to come into my life. And for the record, he was great, and made me feel great; he was just a little young and immature (24) and I think had a few issues of his own to work through.

Anyway, so life in Sarah's world is tumultuous, but at least my weight is being maintained. I hope the next time I get on here I'll be able to report a loss of some kind.

Love you all, miss you all and hope you are all well and Warroring on!!!
Sarah

The same thing happened to me back in January. After a tough divorce and rebound relationship, I met a sweet, awesome guy who was a little younger than me (he was 26, I was 30). We got along great, but he also broke it off after just a few weeks. He was a good guy, but he wasn't ready for a mature relationship and I could tell he had major trust issues. It stung, but I knew it was for the best and kept telling myself that it was his issues, not mine...his loss, not mine.

I'm happy to say that soon after that I reconnected with an old college friend and we've been in a relationship almost six months. He's smart, funny, and so supportive of me. The other guy is still alone, unhappy, and has randomly tried to contact me recently. Like I said, his loss.

At the end of the day, when someone does that to you, all you can do is make sure you are healthy enough emotionally for the next guy to come along. You were ready, but he wasn't, and only he can change that.

I'm sorry to hear about this guy :(
Three months ago I was in a similar situation... heart broken by a guy who was also great, but slightly younger and immature. I'm still back and forth wondering who lost out from the end of our relationship, but in the end it's what "sparked" me to rejoin spark, so I guess I win :)

The important thing is that you still have the people in your life who matter the most, and lots of friends on spark to help you! Good to see you back!

Well done on maintaining in spite of everything that was going on.

A friend of mine always says that the advice from her father was that "guys aren't worth knowing until they are 25".
