Getting better

Saturday, August 11, 2012

The day at the Air Museum, improved my husband's mood and that makes my life better. Today we went to Bob Evans and I had the BE Fit Breakfast with real eggs. Really I only ate the eggs and pancakes. The fruit came home for later.

Every time I dig in my secret stash for something special, I am reminded of the old movie 'Lost Weekend' where the alcoholic stashes booze everywhere. He did it to keep his drinking a secret. I do it so my husband doesn't scarf it down or constantly remind me it is there. Being a tad harder to get to makes me think twice before eating it. I've had a chocolate bar in there so long I don't know where it came from. One day my husband saw me taking a bit of my Hannukah chocolate bar and demanded his share. I snarled at him as I broke off a piece and reminded him it was a gift to me. While it was visible, he kept reminding me it was there. I refused to eat it simply because it was there. If given a chance, he would have taken it and given me a bite while he ate the rest. As a diabetic, he should exercise better control over portions. He says that 2 pudding cups are a single serving and 1/2 c of ice cream is just a taste. How many berries in a serving? I say a 5-6 oz package. He says that is about 4 or 5 servings.

Oh, well those are not today's concerns. He's only made one criticism so far and it's close to lunch time.
