I had a great week this week. Work was very stressful, but I managed to eat healthy 95% of the week, cook most of my meals at home, and get some good exercise in. Overall, I'm proud of the way I handled myself this week and stayed on track.
I'm currently training for the Portland half-marathon. I've decided my goal is to just finish. I'm going to try and train as if I'm going to run the entire thing, but in reality, I know it will be a run some/walk a lot endeavor. I got some good runs in this week along Portland's waterfront, and even shaved 3 minutes off of my previous 5k time. That's progress!
I also signed up for Crossfit this week. My jump start classes start on August 20th. Twice a week for 4 weeks, myself and 5 others in my class will be at the mercy of a trainer. I'm both excited (because I see the results people have had with Crossfit), and also super nervous. The nerves are all "can I do it?", "will I look like an idiot", "will people think I'm weird". I'm always like this with new social situations - but I've invested a lot in this program and know that it is a necessary step in my continued journey.
Eating paleo is going very well. I love not having to count calories and only worry about the quality and types of food I'm consuming. I really haven't missed sweets or refined carbs. I did have a couple of cookies and some dark chocolate Wednesday night - but I plan to let myself have a little treat on occasion. After all, that's part of living, and everything is ok in moderation.
Ok - time for weight loss results!
Beginning weight (3/2011): 257 lbs
Last week's weight: 235.6 lbs
This week's weight: 230.4 lbs
Weight lost this week: -5.2 lbs
Total weight lost: 26.6 lbs
I'm super excited about the loss this week - I worked hard for it! A lot of that may be water weight, but glad to see it gone. I can almost taste crossing that 30lbs lost threshold again. When I get back over that hump I am NEVER going back!
This week, I hope to lose 2 lbs, get a 5 mile run in as part of my half training, and weight train 3 times.
Have a great weekend everyone!!
