Take Your Smile With You

Saturday, August 11, 2012

Another little poem from that pad of stationery I found hidden in my desk drawer...I like this one, too.

Take Your Smile With You

Take your smile with you
Wherever you go--
Keep it bright, use it,
For you never know
Who's tired and discouraged
And sadhearted, too,
And waiting for sunshine
And friendship from you!
Keep your smile handy
And pass it along--
You'll find in return
You've a heart full of song.

Keep smiling, Dear SparkFriends!

I like your poem. That has always been my policy, too. It doesn't cost me anything, and often brightens another's life. I am often repaid in kind. emoticon

I love this oh so true little smile poem as we're all fighting some kind of silent battle and a smile can mean the world to those you kindly give it to.

Hugs,

Jill

NJJ was right. A smile is international! Even for those who cannot speak or hear can understand a smile, and at my bingo, I make it a point to always pass a smile to our woman who can do neither. It's one thing that doesn't have to be "signed" to her.
Thanks again for sharing, Jeannie! emoticon

I LOVED THIS AND THOUGHT ABOUT IT WHEN I WENT TO THE CLUBHOUSE TO PICK UP THE MAIL. THERE WAS A GUY THERE THAT I HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE SO I SMILED AT HIM. HE STARTED TALKING 19 TO THE DOZEN AND WOULDN'T STOP! HE EVEN FOLLOWED ME BACK TO MY CONDO! YIKES! I THINK I WILL KEEP MY SMILING TO THOSE I KNOW AND ONLY TO STRANGERS WHEN OUT IN PUBLIC WHERE THERE IS LESS CHANCE OF PICKING UP A NUT CASE. LOL

I TRY TO LIVE BY THAT. MY SMILES ARE THE ONLY FREE THINGS I CAN GIVE AND I ENJOY IT. IT BECAME MY TRADEMARK WHEN I WAS WORKING...LOL

We too often forget that sharing a smile can be the first step in improving our day and the days of others!
Thanks for the reminder.

That's a really sweet poem. Kind of reminds me of years ago when I was a Brownie. Something that started "I have something in my pocket".
Nice memories!
