I am going to run the Sneak run on September 8th. The run is to benifit Law enforcement families. Sneak was an officer that was shot and killed while on duty. He actually used to work at the same department that my husband is a K-9 deputy for before he changed departments. I think my mother may run it with me! That would really be awesome to have her there with me. I think that we would go at a different pace, but it really would be great to have that support! I have been running every other day trying to prepare for the race. Tonight felt really great. I did a 5 min. 30 second warm up at 3mph then I jogged for 35 minutes at 4mph and then did a 5 minute cool down at 3mph. So I ran a total of 45 minutes for 2.828 miles... not too bad. My main goal for the 5 k is to finish in under 1 hour and to jog the whole thing. I am not concerned with what place I come in...I just want to finish! I have been keeping track of all my runs (speed and duration and miles) so that I can track my progress. I am going to also run a 10 K on November 3rd. I know that may seem like a big goal, but I have commited myself and I am determined to reach that goal! That race is local and it is perfect for me because it is during the local arts festival! So excited! If I can keep on track I know I can run 6.2 miles by November! Here is my run info. so far:

So other than the one really bad day on the 8th my other days really felt like I was moving along well. For some reason I just had a tough time and never got into my grove that day. Felt sooo much better today! Hopefully I will just keep getting better so that when it comes time for the 5 k it seems easy :)
