Reading back over last month's blog post brought two words to mind...."DEBBIE DOWNER!"
However, It is where I was at the time, so I have resisted the urge to delete it. Instead, I'm gonna update, or rather UPdate (cuz I'm feeling pretty UP!) the update!
Since July, I have NOT lost the 11.2 lbs I had gained ......nope....I've lost MORE!!!!! 12.2 to be exact!!! WHOOP WHOOP!!!!!!!
It's amazing what ernest prayer can do! A few KNEE-mails to God and, in His own way, he set me back on track! Thank you God!
Funny, though, it really was HIS way.....my way would have been to wake up everyday 5lbs lighter after eating pizza, burritos, and tacos the day before...oh and Root Beer floats. .....NOT reality. "His ways are not our ways"
HIS way was to show what my eating habits were doing to me......horrible mirrors, tight and no longer fitting clothes, different reactions from people, friends and family losing weight, then, the real kicker.....more kidney stones....THAT was the last straw. My explanation of a kidney stone "episode" .....the third stage of Labor...TIMES 3! It's very scary, there are moments of fear that you are losing your kidney for good....fear that you arent gonna ever pass it.....even fear that you'll die.....too scary. AND....I BROUGHT IT ON MYSELF!
However, God, in His lovingkindness, chose to not just show me the negative effects of my choices. He also, gave me a way out....a clear plan of action that he unfolded in front of me.
Then, after he started putting things in place for me in a way my mind could handle it without being overwhelmed, something else happened...another answer to prayer...someone who understood my struggle and the way I needed to heal/change my lifestyle:
A young friend who is about to graduate from college as a Nutritional Healer(not the correct title, i just can't remember it right now!) gave a talk at our ladies meeting. The subject?....The effects of the food we eat on our blood sugar, pancreas, liver, adrenals, and YES....kidneys!
She has been someone in my corner who can help along the way.
I've made some basic changes, added a lil excersize....more to come, and the pounds are comming off at a rate of about 1/2 to 1 lb a day.....people can tell me it's not healthy, too much at once, but I'm eating healthy....my body is doing it! Best I can figure, it just doesn't want to be fat anymore than my mind does! AND.....it won't always come off that fast....but, I'm seeing results and I'm HAAAAPPPPYYYY!!!!!!!
