Diabetes A lesson for my Son

Friday, August 10, 2012

Hi All,

This is my son's journey. However, I am very concerned. He is 32 has had diabetes since he was 16 He chose a job as a waiter that was fine I wanted to leave him room to find his own path.

About 2 months ago he had a couple of sores on his feet. He says he went to the beach and hurt is toe. He has a great dr. She bandage his toes and told him to stay off his feet. I has a mother (who is not ready to let go) Ask if he wanted to come to my house to rest and when his foot heal I would take him back home. I also ask if he would like to move back home and get assistance until he could get back on his feet.

Well he came for 2 days and went back home and back to work. He went for a dr's check and was told to go to the ER.

They admitted him. He had a MRI and it showed the infection has spread to his big toe. So he is going for Surgery today. DS called me crying they may have to amputate his toe.
I felt so helpless I am in a exacerbation with MS I am not able to go to him, he is out of state.
So I called the hospital I spoke to the nurse on the floor, the hospital chaplin, the social worker, and his aunt and sister and other family members who are all out of town, I call the church he attends Unity. Members will visit him Sunday. Everyone else came by that day.

I felt so such better and he thanked me. DH thought this was very funny. Actually DS did too. But he appreciated the attention. DS understand I could not be there but his mother would call the Calvary emoticon

Thank you all for your support I do not know what I would do without MY emoticon's
