Since beginning my SparkPeople journey, I have made many small changes that I think have really helped. Small changes can make a big difference.
When I go to the grocery store, mall, or any place that I have to park, I park the car in the furthest space and walk. I don't use the elevator or escalator unless I don't have another choice. This one is obvious, I started eating breakfast. I would always skip breakfast, thinking that I didn't need it. Now I get up 15 minutes earlier so that I have plenty of time for breakfast. I also forced myself to switch to skim milk, low-fat mayo and low-fat sour cream. It's not as bad as I thought it would be!
I have a pair of jeans that have been in my closet for a very long time. They still have the tags on them, and they were two sizes too small. I took them out of the closet and hung them on the back of my bedroom door so that I will see them everyday, as extra motivation. Three months ago, I couldn't get them past my thighs. Although I've lost 30 lbs., I'm afraid to try them on yet. I figured I would wait until 40 lbs to try them on. I guess I'm a bit of a chicken.
