I can't believe I let this happen

Thursday, August 09, 2012

Almost two years ago exactly I started the 30 day shred and completed it. Nine years ago my son went to college and my role and how I defined myself and what I did with my time was gone. I needed a hobby and took up working out and working on me. Found out I was hypothyroid and between the meds, exercise and eating right the extra seventy pounds I had carried around began to fall off for good. It took me two years to lose all my weight and since then I have been pretty successful at maintaining. So I continued to workout but wanted more definition and tone. That's when I discovered Jillian.

From Septemper of 2010 to May of 2012 I worked out regularly rotating several Jillian dvd's and I was in the best shape I had been in for a very long time. Then I just stopped working out. I know, I know. I worked out religiously for 9 years and just stopped?!? And I lost all the tone and strength and stamina and energy and all of it. So disappointed at myself and so surprised that I became a mush pot all in two months after NINE YEARS!

But today I plugged Jillian in and she welcomed me with open arms and proceeded to kick my butt! I appreciated every minute. I huffed and puffed and groaned and now the muscle stiffness is setting in. Tomorrow will be a challenge getting out of bed to face her again. But I will do it. I will succeed.

Sounds like you ARE succeeding judging by your updates!! Way to get back on that wagon girl. I hope you found that two months does not erase 9 years of hard work, I believe in muscle memory. Hope you are well :)

I, too, have done some backsliding. However, I am regrouping, too.

It happens.

Why is it so much easier to gain and get flabby than it is to stay in shape? Good for you for getting back on line. Good luck!

Don't beat yourself up sweetie, sometimes life just gets in the way. The important thing is you can fix it and have already begun to do so. emoticon emoticon

Cut yourself some slack please because we all slip at one time or another. What you did yesterday you can't undo but you can control what you do from this point on. Guess what? You've done the hard part already - you got back with your program. Congratulations for doing that!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
