It seemed ordinary...but it turned out not to be! My boss had me work over yesterday so I already knew I was going to leave early. It was raining which I love. A coworker asked if I wanted to go to the play next Tuesday - and tickets are $10 not $45 b/c she had a special. We are going to dinner before but money and food wise I was worried...but there is a great salad and soup that I can have and I can have fun with my friends. Asked a friend who has learned to work with a physical limitation - she changed from runnng to walking but still races and has her ellipticals. Had a creative meeting which was a nice change of pace. After work, I treated myself by asking for a tour around the Y this afternoon - awesome! They have new Livestrong (GO LANCE!!!!!) spin bikes, a video spin studio, hydrocycle (more spin in the pool)...can you tell I'm absolutely NUTS about spinning? I then looked at some of the classrooms and met the wellness instructor. I found out that the Y offers 3-in-1 which is 3 months of trainer assisted teaching for a regime and also for learning how to use the machines. I know some but not enough and a refresher couldn't hurt. I have that first lesson Saturday morning after hydrocycle. I somehow (though I don't believe in accidents) ran into the manager of the Y who expedited my elevator pass. Yay! Then, I went on the recumbent bike just to see how this knee was 2 months to the day after falling...and I COULD RIDE!!!!! Granted it may not seem like much to some people but I remembered how to calculate my BP, watch the watts, and really, truly felt like my most authentic self on even that type of bike. Oh, if I had just figured this out years ago and not sold myself short. But now? Sky's the limit. I went to the sauna after that and then got on what I thought was the bus home. The first time I have ever NOT looked at the number, lol...OMG, I ended up on the express which was on the interstate and drove right past my exit. Hmmm...well, called a couple who lives near there and they came and took me home. Even the "mistake" turned out good. Now I'm home where I can share all my blessings with you...oh, that all days were as wonderful as this for all of us.
