To forgive or not to forgive and the consequence of unforgiveness.

Thursday, August 09, 2012

YES! Forgiveness is a poison that will destroy the hater. It cause a lost in the relationship with our Lord. Romans 12 teaches us to forgive even our enemy's and to do good to them. Matthew 5-7--tells us as Christians we are disqualified if we forgive not.

Hebrews 12: 14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

"Many people ruin their health and their lives by taking the poison of bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness. Matthew 18:23-35 tells us that if we do not forgive people, we get turned over to the torturers." Joyce Meyers

Luke 15 the Lost and found chapter has a message for the self righteous and unforgiving persons. (It was intended for the Pharisees and scribes as well as all mankind) Look at the story at who is judging. At who is sinning and who is repenting and who is reaching out in love. www.biblegateway.com/pas

Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. K.J.V. in public domain

1 Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

1 John 1:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.   Forgiving a hurtful injustice is very difficult---- but God commands us to forgive.
HE forgives us--- Thanks for this lesson!

    I remember many years ago, trying to obey the part in the Bible about not going to bed angry, I apologized to my then hubby (now ex) for upsetting him, but said I wasn't quite sure how I had done it. He got even angrier and said I knew perfectly well. Unfortunately though I had tried to smooth things over, he just got angrier and angrier. To this day I don't know what upset him, because what he had exploded about was what I would consider a compliment.

Nowadays I lay it to the fact that he was raised very differently from the way I was raised. He was beaten many times, whereas my family was loving and kind. I still pray for his soul.
