“Imagine that you won this prize in a contest…

Each morning the bank will deposit $86,400 into your private account for your own personal use. However, this prize comes with rules.

The rules are:
* You must spend the money each day.
* Everything that you don’t spend in that day will be taken away from you.
* You cannot simply transfer the money to another account.
* You cannot give the money away and it can't be used by anyone else.
* Every morning, upon waking up, the bank credits your account with another $86,400 to be used that day.
The bank can cancel your account and stop depositing at any time without warning.

When the game is over, IT IS OVER!!

What would you personally do?
I guess, that you would buy anything and everything that you wanted, right. Not only for yourself, but for everyone you know and love. You couldn’t spend it all on yourself, and you would try to spend as much as possible every day, wouldn’t you?

Actually, this game is reality and you are already playing! The only difference is that you don't receive money.

The magical bank is the BANK OF TIME and you already receive this gift every morning.

Every morning, we receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life, to spend that day and anything left over is lost.

Whatever we haven’t lived today is lost forever.

Every morning, the bank of time is replenished, but we never know when it will end – without warning!!

So – what are you doing with your time – and you really getting the maximum value from the time you have – are you really living your life to the full??

What do you plan to do with the 86,400 seconds that you will be given when you wake up tomorrow. If it was your last day, what would you plan to do??

Enjoy every second of your life, cause time races by so much quicker than you think.

Is it really worth wasting it in meanness, unhappiness, jealousy, disagreements, and all those other negative emotions that suck the life out of us?

Take care of yourself, spread happiness and love to those around you and enjoy your life.”

Source unknown.

I received this email from a friend today, and it got me thinking – I thought that it was worth spreading to my Sparkie friends.

Have a fabulous day – you won’t get another exactly the same ever again!!

As each of us grow older, each passing day is a shorter percentage of our live to date. It is wise not waste a minute or even a second of passing time.

I love the idea of comparing spending money and spending time. It's refreshing and so real to be reminded that not only is each day a gift to spend but that it can be taken away without warning -- so true. I know all this -- yet I need to be reminded again and again to 'accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative' and share and enjoy each day with others -- Thank you!

Very True! Just talked to my son this morning, inviting him to join us for swimming and grilling later. He just didn't feel like getting out. He is 51 and I am his Mom at 71. Told him you can stay in, but you keep it up and you will not be able to get out!! Sad to see your children get older than yourself. Make good use of what you have!!

Hi, this is an eye-opener blog and I do realize how precious our life is especially at this time of my life. The seconds seem to fly by and my cousin Marion who was like a sister died about a year and a half ago, well her wonderful husband Bob died unexpectly this past March and my dear cousin Harry who I was very close too died two weeks ago. I know some days I feel like where did the time go and what did I really do today........a blog like this really makes us think about the precious seconds and what we do with them. Thank you for sharing this wonderful blog! emoticon June

Thanks so much for sharing this with us! I had no idea what you were talking about (thought maybe you had won the lottery or something) till I read down a few paragraphs!

This is so true! Your life goes by so quickly and before you know it, you are a senior citizen and time is running out, your days truely are numbered! When you are young, it never occurs to you that there will be an end. You can push it out of your mind and go on about your business. But NOW, you are forced to see your own mortality on the horizon.

It really struck me after my mother passed, 7 years ago. She and I were good friends, talked a lot, wrote each other lots of letters, and just in general were close. I do regret having moved away from her and my dad in 1981, we saw them every year, though, they made the trip down for Christmas. (Michigan to Texas)

Thanks again, hopefully this will help people to place more value on the time they are given on earth.

emoticon

Wow! I am amazed that I spend that much time in bed! (I broke my ankle a month ago and so far it is not healing at all, so I am stuck in bed a lot.)

Today I made wise use of my 86,400 seconds by mowing the yard - yes with a cast on. I covered it in an old hunting sock of my father's so it fit over the splints very tightly, giving my ankle added stability it needed. Then I used a cane to push the brake on the lawnmower, and when I wasn't "braking" I used the cane to prop my leg up.

I found myself wasting time getting upset that no one I know has even offered to help me mow as it has been a month now since I broke my leg. Well, instead of getting angry or sad, I gathered up all my energy and crawled out to that mower and began mowing. It is something that I love to do, even if it is 100 degrees out.

So I got most of it done, as it was almost 2 feet high in some places and very thick and very wet, so I took my time doing it. And I had a good time. I felt wonderful (after I got into some A/C) that I had done something challenging and it also cleared the yard for the dogs to get out and run again. They have been so sad that the grass has been so poorly maintained.

Anyway, your blog passed my eyes at the best time, because I am thankful to have the time to do something for my dogs, and not making my 65 year old Aunt do it. I just can't get angry with her for NOT doing it. Besides, I have a brother that should have done it already - and he has no health issues either. But instead of getting angy, I got it done.

Thank you for this message at just the right time!
