Living alone and loving it - goal to get the refrigerator cleaned out, for a Sparkpeople show and tell tomorrow.
So tomorrow, I want to do an ideal spark shopping trip. However, before I can do that I needed to do the dreaded - clean out the refrigerator.
This is worst than it normally would have been because we had a garbage strike so I purposely keep some science experiments in the lower drawers so I wouldn't have a stink kitchen. Gross, gross, gross - that is an appetite suppressant with amazing gag powers!
Many of the things were painful to throw away. Like my husband's Mountain Dew. I don't drink the stuff and he won't be back to be drinking it for months, so out out out. There were salad dressings that he used that I won't. His sweet pickle relish, I only like dills. Louis's homemade dog food from the freezer. It was like throwing out memories of them both.
There were however, some reflection moments in this. I've not had any pop since he left. He would go to the store and bring me back diet pop. Our trash was largely filled with these bottles. Now I drink watered down OJ, water flavored with True Lemon, or Crystal Light. I haven't even thought to miss diet coke and it only came to my mind when I saw his pop at the back of the refrigerator.
Scrubbed and bleached all ready to go for a new shopping trip. I love doing this on Wednesday, because generally Thursdays are the best day of the week to go shopping. Stores standardly restock just before the weekend and will discount things on Thursdays to make way for new things on Friday.
Warning tomorrows breakfast will look like the strange mixed up leftovers that need to be finished!
