So for the past couple of months I've been having AWFUL headaches about every 10 to 14 days....and chest tightness. Unfortunately this has lead to almost completely stopping exercising and has definitely lead to some poor eating. Thankfully through it all I only gained 3 pounds - 3 pounds that have now disappeared!
I finally decided to go to the doctor to see if there was anything that could be done about the headaches and chest tightness - knowing full well that there may not be. Unfortunately I couldn't see MY doctor and had to see the PA instead - not that it much matters since they both know what they are talking about, but I love my doctor - she is awesome and totally listens to me and totally gets what I'm saying.
So anyways, turns out I have stress in my life - huge surprise right? I mean who would have thought - an (currently) unemployed husband, 2 little boys, and a "full - time" job that isn't (in my opinion) full - time. On top of that - one of our cars had to get $300 worth of repair work about 3 weeks ago, and I found out last week that one of my student loan payments never made it to the loan company (and still hasn't). Oh and our computer got a virus - the other computer. That doesn't even include any of my work stresses - HIPAA doesn't allow me to go into much detail - but let's leave it at I'm looking for a new job & haven't decided if I want to leave my current one yet!
So the PA decided that I have anxiety from the stress - gave me meds for that to take when I have the chest tightness. She also decided that I have migraines....I've NEVER had migraines - yet I seem to have had about 4 in the last 2 months - give or take. Luckily the PA is pretty cool too (although not quite as awesome as my doctor) and she gave me meds for the anxiety and told me to up my caffeine intake when a migraine comes on - and it has helped! Thankfully I haven't needed the meds all that often, less than once a day on average - but enough that I don't feel like I can't breathe from the chest tightness. And the caffeine intake helped with the migraine that tried to start today at work - and she even told me to use Vanquish for Migraines rather than trying to choke down coffee or tea - not a fan of either!
So now I guess I'm starting again....and I'm joining the stress busting challenge. Wish me luck!
