I'm an addict

Tuesday, August 07, 2012

Ok.. there I said it.. I admit it.. I'm an addict...
I'm addicted to the London 2012 Olympics!!

What is the first thing I do when I go downstairs after putting the dogs out at 06:00?? Hmm.. Turn on the BBC Breakfast show and use it as background to get caught up on what will be happening in all the venues for the day.
I want to know what has happened overnight while I was sleeping!!!

I leave the TV on so long that it goes into sleep mode and I have to restart it to keep watching.

I plan my run so that I can be back in time to watch people like the Brownlee Brothers in the Triathlon! Make sure the dog walk fits in between the cycling kerin races so I see Team GB win! Leave the TV on while I am doing office work so I can run down stairs when the rowers are nearing the finish line.!!

I have watched sports that I didn't think I would find interesting! Judo, water polo, badminton, field hockey, and sports that I know a little about I have learned the ins and outs of the competition. I realized that I have done many of the sports/events growing up that are included in the Olympics.

I am staying up late to see how the day concludes. I am eagerly switching from one BBC channel to another to see what event is being shown in its entirety without commentary! I schedule my day around the most important events so I don't miss them. I study the boxing stance of the competitors, I watch the running style of the sprinters, I notice the rowing form of the double skullers!!

Like I said in the beginning of this blog.. I'm addicted! My one concern is what am I going to do when the closing ceremonies bring this amazing and wonderful London games to an end????!!! Will I suffer withdrawal?? What will I do to replace the void from all the athletic stimulus??
Ponder all this I will...and carry it forward into my own personal goals!

This olympic I have not watched anything at all - but I completely do understand the addiction because I have been there done that somewhere back in the 1990th... and when it was over it was over and it was ok.

Well if you are going to be an addict, that's not a horrible thing to be addicted too LOL Enjoy your time and to fill that void you could try a new sport emoticon
