As most of my regular followers know I have a deep interest in my family and genealogy. From my paternal immigrant grandparents from Slovakia to my maternal ancestors who were here before the revolutionary war, and all my veteran family members, I have enjoyed doing my own research since 1971. You should know by now that I'm an ACE member for ancestry.com and a member of the DAR.
The 1940 Census report is available now. The 1940 cencus is now complete at ancestory.com. You can now check by name in the different states. This is only one of the benefits of the site in my own opinion. Ancestry is also encouraging their ACES to have contests on their blogs with the winner receiving a very nice prize.
If you would like to be a part of this - or even if you just want to answer - the two questions that MUST be answered to win are:
#1. What would you like to find out the most about your ancestors?
#2. What kinds of questions do you feel you will have answered by researching the 1940 Census records?
I hope all of my blog readers will at least answer #1 simply because I love hearing about what interests others and because perhaps I could make a suggestion or so to advise where to look for an answer.
I'll reprint this two more times with the final one 06 August 2012 and the final submission date 12 August 2012. I'll announce the winner and 2 runners up the following Monday, 20 August 2012. This is the final posting. Please have your answers on the blog pages by next Monday.
Good luck and I'm really interested in seeing your answers. If you have other SP friends who are interest in genealogy and would like to enter my contest, please tell them to come to my blog to see how they might win.
Peace, love, and happiness to all.
