We had a storm start though our area last night and it was still going today. Yesterday was so extremely hot and the humidity was unbearable and I believe that is what made me sick.
Most of the day we had great temps at about 76 to 78 and it rained until about 2 pm. About 3 it started getting really humid again when the sun appeared. We got to the market early and got losts of our work done because we could move around without suffering from the heat.
We got lots of mer chandise cleaned and priced for my shops. I also found three great items to put there.
I sell lots of small items but I need to sell some larger and more expensive items so that I make a profit. I found three of those today. I dd not find any last weekend. A vendor came out and sat our a piece that I wanted. It was not there this morning when I was running around shopping, but it appeared in mid afternoon. He has been there forever and works there a lot. I called his cell with no answer. I told Hubby I knew how much I would pay for it. Hubby went around looking for him and finally found out that he went home because he was tired and need to rest. I understand that because he has been battling one cancer or another for over 8 years. He recently went though another bout of treatments and they have taken a toll on him. Talked with his daughter and she told me he was doing better. I advised her that he is in our prayers often.
When we were leaving we drove around the market looking for his van and then went by his house and it was not there (of course, his wife could be off shopping in it). Finally Hubby went to the office and talked with his daughter. Another manager was in the office and she told Hubby how much he wanted for the piece. Hubby came out and told me and I asked him to ask the daughter to take the money. Hubby went back with money. She told him that she would go over and mark the piece sold and give her Dad the cash. I was so excited to get it. It is a piece that you do not see everyday. Hubby asked me what would happen if no one bought it and I told him. okay he would be looking at it in our house.
He finally admitted that I would buy things and he would not understand who would buy it and
they were the first things to go. So far he is not having to look at them in our house. I do buy things I like and bring home and take something else out and sell. It is a constant on some items. There are certain pieces that I will not replace, but other than those it can be a round about at our house.
We got home and Miss Coco was not able to hold her everything today. That is unusual for her but at least it was not the fluid. She met us at the door and had her little head hanging down. That is when I knew all was not okay. She was trying to say she was sorry before we even discovered her boo boo. i do not reprimand her for this when it is so infrequent. I happens maybe once every 3 or 4 months so I know it was something she could not help. If she did it everytime we left it woud be another issue and we would have to deal with it. I cleaned it up and told her it was okay and she sneaked over to me bearly wagging her little nub to see if I was really not mad at her. I got up and put everything in the thrash, sat down in my chair and called her to come up with me. That is when she knew she was okay. I would not tell her it was okay when she sneaked up and I was cleaning as it might let her know it was okay.
Hubby went into another room and was playing some program on his computer and I was on mine watching Ceasar. It was half way through the program when she got really upset and started running around and barking. She heard the dogs on my system. Other dogs has been barking early in the program and she did not respond. The one she responded to was a very agressive animal. I think she thought she needed to try and protect us from it. Ceaser had stated this was one of the most agressisve animals he had encounter. I paused the program and picked her up and took her in the room with Hubby. I sat beside him and we were both trying to calm her. She was shaking so bad but not cowering but wanted to jump into the middle to protect us. I told Hubby we had to make sure that she never got close to an agressive dog close by. Her little 10 pounds would be no deterant to a large aggressive animal. I guess when I watch these programs I need to lower the volumn so she will not believe we are being attacked.
I learn different things about her all the time and this is a new one. She is a little lover and never meets a stranger. She loved everyone and thinks they should pat and cuddle her. She did cower behind me once and grow very low at a person I had known for several years. He had come in to sit down and talk with me. Hubby always finds somthing else to do when people come by to talk with me if he does not know them. This man had been trying to get me to hire him to work around our house, paint, clean, yardwork, anything. I always told him no as we had someone to do these things. After she became upset with him, I took another look and knew that she did not trust him. I knew then that I should not either. He was trying to find out information and get to our home. I really believe I would have been in danger. After she did this, he would come to the back and ask me to come outside the booth. I finally told him we were moving to a condo and everything was taken care of by maintainence. Of course that was a little white lie. About four months later another person that knew him asked me if I had heard that he was involved in a horrific crime. Thank goodness I never let him know where we lived.
