I am recovering well. On Monday I had somewhere between 5-7 pounds of skin removed from my stomach. On Tuesday, I stood in front of a mirror as the doctor took off my binder and showed me the amazing results for the first time. What do you know, there was a flat stomach under all that skin. I am a little bloated and puffy still, but I think once all that goes down, I am going to look amazing! I don't think I've ever had a flat stomach my whole life. My belly button looks all cute and perky again.. I worked hard to lose that 178 pounds... it's so cool to lose all that skin. Now I just need a bikini. :) I see bikini romping might be in my future after all.

The day of the surgery I was ordered to get up and walk around my house at least twice because it was good for avoiding blood clots. I ended up calling to see if I could walk more because I got restless. He said I was the first patient that has asked if they could walk more. He also told me that I had the least amount of fatty tissue out of all the abdomonplasty patients that he has had. I am back up to walking a few miles a day, but only a little over a mile at a time. I guess it was also rare that I lost all this weight on my own. He said most his massive weight loss patients had had gastric bypass. So I am on the mend, and hoping to recovered and back to some more normal activity soon. I've been trying to eat nutrient rich foods to help my body heal the best it can. He thought I might be able to be back to running in just a few weeks. I can't wait.... recovery is boring.

Good to know you are doing well. Getting blood clots are no fun, a friend of mine is recovering from them. IT's pretty incredible that you did this for yourself, the weight loss, holding on to your marriage and family, all of this all at the same time. I wish you success and health. I have been reading all your past Spark blog posts, would it be alright if I add you as a Spark friend? emoticon emoticon emoticon
