I ran again with my virtual partner yesterday. My training plan had the same distance and time as the workout before so I chose my previous time. ON this workout I decided to see how far I could actually jog before I needed a walk break. I made it to the 5k mark on my route. But, were my legs ready for a walk break!!!
I set my garmin's screen to just show my progress against the virtual partner. I had a lead starting out and maintained that lead throughout the run. It was a pretty good lead, too, except for that last mile. That last mile is when I needed those walk breaks and while I wasn't walking much, my virtual partner was gaining on me.
My thoughts on that were "I must have really pushed myself that last mile on my last run." So, I stayed focused and kept my walks to a minimum and did a lot of talking to myself, "stay strong" "Stay focused" "Breathe" "Keep Relaxed" "Enjoy the run" "Conquer that hill"
"Conquer that hill" did not work very well as it got the best of me going up, but I did enjoy flying down the other side .
I finished that run in 45:13. I think I am going to like this feature.
