Fabulously Fruity

I have been focusing on eating more fruits and veggies in my diet. My goal is to make up more than half of my food intake in fresh produce. Today I did really well. I started out with watermelon and cantaloupe. My daughters pointed out to me about an hour after I ate, that when I start the day with fresh fruits I seem so much more energetic. I never noticed before, but they are right.

So my mini goal is to really incorporate as much fresh produce (as the budget allows) into my diet. I also find when I eat a good amount of fruit that I have less cravings. I guess this is because I am getting the sugar I am addicted to in junk-but in the natural form? It's easy to by pass soda, etc., when I eat more fruits.

    Good for you! I love watermelon and am fortunate to leave in an area where they are grown so they are fairly inexpensive!! Keep on keeping on!

    i eat the most fresh produce in the summer when i can get it from my garden or locally. i tend to use dome frozen/canned in the winter. most melons are inexpensive for the amount of fruit you get.
