Thanks for everyone's feedback on my last blog! I have decided for good to work on saving for the perfect bike, even if that means I don't get one till next Summer. Along with paying down my debt, I want to take the time to afford a good one! After growing up in a household that could afford nice things but pinched pennies anyways (crappy clothes that fell apart often, never going to cool restaurants) I've grown into the kind of woman who appreciates money well spent on good quality. So while it's tempting to go drop $60 on a second hand bike, I know myself better than that. I have an idea of what I want, and I'll enjoy the bike most if it fits my criteria. Even if that means saving for a $400 bike.
In the meanwhile, I'll keep using the stationary bike in the gym. And when I'm in Denver or Boulder I'll consider renting the B-Cycle bikes to get around (there are none in my area, I live between the two cities).
Next up.... my plateau is finally overcome! I have no idea what did it, but I'm happy to say I finally saw more improvement this week. It makes me want to work even harder to push for that last 2.6 lbs I need to hit my Summer Challenge goal! I can do it!
I'll start by working out and eating healthy this weekend! I can't wait to go for a run later, also planning on really pushing my strength workouts this month so I'll do a good core workout today too! Tomorrow will be another upper body focus day, the next day lower body, etc. I tend to under-eat during the weekends as well, so I'm going to focus on eating enough and keeping it healthy! For starters, time for BREAKFAST! And then a trip to the vitamin shop for some protein powder, since I struggle with reaching my daily protein quite often. I eat mostly vegetarian unless I go out or someone feeds me meat. It's expensive and I just don't like handling the raw muscles of animals all that much. I stick to seafood, less dead-animal bloody smell when raw (and the fishy smell shouldn't be very present if you get fresh fish!). But man do I love a good steak!
