This is the first time in many years that we will miss
the county fair. So much going on and DS is aging out
of 4-H. He's only 18 but he has bigger events going on.
Just getting ready for college and wrapping up his
summer obligations so chickens and goats take a back
seat to a job and Performing Arts. I was very glad we
decided to forego showing the chickens. As it stood last
night, we just ran out of time. I had already called to
tell them his entries would be staying home. But I still
have to enter them in the Open Class at State Fair. This
will be the only way to sell the extras.
DS has a performance tomorrow afternoon and we are
making plans to attend. DH is judging rabbits and poultry
in 2 counties so he is driving to one fair tonight, staying
in a motel and driving to the next fair. I will meet up
with him tomorrow. Very tentative plans on my part,
always subject to change. But that is how life goes.
I will be dining alone tonight and already planning a
nice salad with chicken and a light dressing, with
cantaloupe or watermelon. A little peace and quiet
on the side LOL! Maybe a long walk after chores.
