    Thanks guys. A sprint triathlon is completely reasonable as a goal. It's typically a 400 yd swim (approx 18 laps of a 25 yd pool), 15 mi bike, and a 3.1 mi run (5K). The difficult thing seems to be running off the bike, as the muscles in your legs are just never completely ready for it. To prepare, you practice "brick" workouts where you bike and then immediately transition into a run. You can get used to it with work.

It sounds like more than it is, and for me just 8 months after my first 5K it's been hard work, but completely realistic. I would like to work up to Olympic distance tris and then possibly take a look at a Half Ironman (70.3 total miles).

    Awesome job!!!! i just recently found that i enjoy running and i have always loved swimming and biking you have inspired me to set a goal to do a tri-athalon at some point during my journey. thanks for the inspiration!!!!
