Wow, I'm WAY behind on my reading! I loved this blog, and sure hope you had a wonderful birthday . I mean, things can only get better after your muffler falls off on the side of the road, right? I'm pretty sure I send you a present, but I'm going to do it now, just in case . . .

It's the middle of the night on my side of the Bridge on the New York side, and I find I cannot sleep [serves me right for having that double coffee so late in the afternoon -- I knew somehow, some way, I was going to pay for it, and I am]. And, I'm hungry, too. So I cave, get up, make a sandwich that is way over my calorie allotment [and I'm fine with that -- doesn't happen often], and turn to the favorite blog posts. After reading yours (again a winner -- your frankness becoming even more frank than usual, really amazes me. You have such tremendous courage!), I see that I missed a few, and turn to your birthday story. Now this one really gives me pause. I'm not a newcomer to your blogs by any stretch, and I have noted how introspective you can be, and how much work you apparently have done to get to be where you are today, in spite of so much in your past [kudos, by the way], but never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined so much humility in one of your blogs. Didn't see that one coming at all. Goes to show ya, one really never knows another one in SparkWorld, because it is a two-dimensional medium after all. On behalf of many, I am sure, I'll say you're welcome and thank you at the same time. You do shine a light where so many of us dare not go. And you lead the way as few can, in how to execute just that.

Glad to hear that Santa saved the day. As for crocs,I heart mine. Seriously. I have at least 7 pairs. I bought a pair at Cabela's that you would never guess are "plastic". Oh,and I LIKED the name Vajayjay .

Wow what a wonderful life you lead! I find being almost retired very quiet by comparison. I would love to join you with your cats on a boycott. I do love cats, and more cats. I have to admit I do not care for crocs. My daughter keeps trying to get me into them, but they are just not my thing. But I can see the use of them for walking in that heat. England rarely gets hot enough to worry about that type of heat, a good brisk walk in fur lined boots just about gets as good as its going to. Any way us English would moan non-stop if we had weather with heat. Take care of those cats!

I could read one of your blogs every single day! My hubby created and left an 'emergency bag' in my 2010 Rav4. I'm pretty sure that it's ready for any kind of disaster- including the one you had.
I bet if we were in your car- with my emergency bag, we would have had our choice of wire, duct tape and some item that would double as sustenance and adhesive. We would have been on the road in no time!
I hope your birthday was amazing, too, Teeny, and I almost CRAPPED myself when I read about the tube in the boss' office...O....MY....GOD. WHO DOES SOMETHING LIKE THAT???? Gee, I wonder what kind of performance review THAT person got.......uuuuugggghhh. But geez, finding a good mechanic who won't take you to the cleaners, now THAT is a minor miracle.
