5K, say what?

I did it. I finally took the plunge and signed up to do a 5k. It's not until September, so I figure I have lots of time to build up to it. I've heard they are tons of fun so I'm looking forward to it, even though I'm a little nervous about it.

Over the last week I have noticed that I was already starting to try to come up with excuses not to work out. I haven't given into them yet, but that's usually the next step. I'm hoping this will help keep me focused.

So... why not? I've surprised myself a lot over the last year. This will be a new challenge for me. Maybe the old saying is right, maybe life really does start after 40.

Onward we go...

    I have done 3 5Ks now--and they ARE fun and you get SUCH a feeling of accomplishment!! Good luck to you! I used one of the spark training plans--I DO suggest you "train" before going out to run it!
