Thank you so much for all of your well-wishes and thoughts,
my dear sparkfriends.
We are facing a serious financial setback -involving a business my husband (and I, of course, I signed those papers, too) owned several years ago and that we partially financed in order to unload it.
My dear man is an entrepreneur and has done very well for us for over 40 years but these are not typical times and this deal has blown up on us- not entirely unexpectedly.
DH is working feverishly on it, with the help of a very competent attorney (soon to be two, I guess) but the great news is his mood and attitude are staying UP as he is in extreme problem-solving mode right now.
There has been a major shift in thinking for him- in big part because of our wonderful grandbabies- and he even says so!
Having so much love and fun in his life on a daily basis has allowed him to keep things in perspective.
It's just a huge messy expensive problem that he feels we can solve in a long complicated possibly painful series of steps.
We are not going to lose our home.
We have our second home up for sale but houses are not selling in the Caribbean right now due to the world economy,
(If you know anyone interested in owning or renting on Anguilla- please fowrwad my link)
The worst that will happen is we will be tapping into my meager retirement funds, which we had hoped to save for when we are much older.
So, again, thanks for your support!
BTW- the beach picnic last night was great- and cheap fun!
