I ran with the virtual partner feature yesterday on my Garmin Forerunner 305. I ran the same route and distance as I did on Monday, so I thought I'd compete with myself and see if I could beat my time.
Monday's stats: 4 miles in 47:24
Wednesday's stats: 4 miles in 46:09
I was able to jog 2 miles before I had to stop and take a breather. I think it is because my route is hilly and I start out heading toward the river. That means despite the hills, I am running downhill; so, when I turn around I have to go uphill. Plus, I cannot get moving early in the morning so it starts getting hot when I turn around and I don't want to overheat my body.
I did weigh my before and after and I lost almost 2 pounds - in this heat I need to be very careful to stay hydrated.
To make a long story short - I shaved 1 minute and 15 seconds off my previous time by competing with myself using the virtual partner feature. YEAH!!!
