Good Morning; DS's surgeon wrote him a new profile- signed by a Lt Col. Now you would think that this would be obeyed. In the profile, it states that DS can not stand in formation. So he was told to stand behind formation- 1st Sqt was amazed that he got a profile with a LT Col signature so fast. It was not fast about 2 weeks but my DH knew that DS needed a stronger one. DS wrote a letter to his surgeon who repaired his back when the first surgeon botched up the first surgery. Long story - any one interested can go back in the blogs read. But my son said that he did what he was told and stood behind formation. My DS has become a strong character and now is standing up for himself. He realizes that if he does not do it no one will. My son will be fine through this process. DS is a stubborn man who when he finally gets his back up and he has a very strong mind. I always thought he would be best used in a planning or strategy situation. He has a great mind with quite a memory. This is now a game with DS and he is a very good game player. He is in for the long haul b/c he is fully aware that the Army is trying to get him to blow up so they will take away his benefits and with a dishonorable discharge. DS has seen it happen many times before. He is strong as long as he does not get overwhelmed he will be fine. He is coming home this weekend to recharge and that is our role to shore it up and throw him back in the arena. I just hope his medical discharge comes by the end of the year which is a possibility. DS found out that his paperwork is on hold by his CO. This is a ploy to delay things, but at least we now know. Both my DH and I were part of a major tech company in a planning organization. We learned to navigate bureaucracy when there were impasses. I have been sharing with DS the terminology and the process you have to take. Now he is listening where b4 his parents did not know much when he was in HS. Amazing how kids grow up and realize that their parents do know something. It is a nice sign of their maturity. I am feeling good and will exercise and have not OVEREATING over this stress.
I am growing as a person on my journey that I can work my plan in spite of stress or outside issues that used to send me to food. So the issues with my DS and the Army are making me a stronger Blue Star mom. For today, I am stronger for all who have come before me. Have a good day and thank you for all your support.
