well i am back

Well i fell of the wagon for a couple of years and dealt with some family issues. Now i am in a house with a full lenght mirror and i actually got a look at my self in the mirror and was not happy with what i saw. so i made a decision that i would loose the weight. So i am back and more determined to loose the excess 52 pounds. I am cutting back on the soda again. I am not cutting them out completely as i can't handle the headaches. but for the last two days i have cut back drastically. Before i started i was drinking any where from 5 to 6 24 ounce sodas a day ( i get them free at work). SO on day one i tried to go the day without them and what a headache i got... so i broke down and ended up having one 24 ounce soda and then one 12 ounce soda. On day 2 i have had one 24 ounce soda split throu out the day. So far no headache and i have cut my liguid calorie intake by half. It is insane how many calories i have cut in 2 days. Felling pretty good so far and want to keep it up. Also i have increased my water intake by about 8 cups per day. So i am back and ready to loose.

    thank you, it is a hard habit to break. I mean it isn't a drug but in a way it is because of the caffeine and the sugars and the crispness of it all. I new i drank a lot of soda and that it wasn't good for me but i didn't realize just how many calories i was drinking a day. I was totally shocked. for the last three days i have done pretty good. the first day was the worst as i was trying to wait longer between sodas so when i woke up i didn't drink one or have any caffeine. by the time i was off of work the headache i had was unbearable. so the second day i had one soda and then took a tylenol with some caffeine to combat the headache that was still holding on from the day before. about half way thru the day i had half a soda and thru this whole time i was drinking water. I ended up drinking about 15 glasses of water that day. for day two i have a\had one soda and 5 glasses of water so far. I am determined to loose some of the weight i have put on in the last couple of years. I want to look better and feel better. Thanks for the tip on the soda's every other day i think i will work towards that after my first week of weaning down on the sodas.

    Good job..Keep up the good work! I have a hard time too with soda..it's a hard habit to break. I allow myself one can every other day and so far so good. Just remember (I try this myself) it really is bad for u. I never realized just how bad until I made the decision to stop drinking it. It really is NOT good for the body. They've written articles on the damages it can do to your stomach. I try to keep that in the forefront of my mind when I crave a can. I'm trying to ween from every other day to one a week then none eventually. Like so many, I was raised with soda. So, I know what you're going through. But, Welcome back and You can lose those pounds! emoticon
