Time to be brutally honest... Am I being honest?

Wednesday, August 01, 2012

Average Calories In: 1519.3 (for 27 days tracked)
Daily Calorie Intake Goal Range: 1390-1740
BMR for my height, weight and age is 1680.375*
*based off Women's BMR = 655 + 4.35 x weight in pounds +4.7(height in inches - age in years)

And apparently I burned 8460 calories through cardio in July.

1680.375 (estimated BMR) x 27 days (tracked nutrition) +8460 = 53830.125

1519.3 cals in x27 days = 41021.1

53830.125-41021.1 = 12809.025 DEFICIT

But...
Weight:
June 27: 192.5
August 31: 192.5
Difference... nadah!

And since 1lb fat is 3500 calories, I *should* have lost around 3.6lbs this month... Which means that I either suck at tracking, or I ate 3202.25625 MORE than my BMR each of those 4 days that I didn't track my food - which means that I ate something like 4882 calories on those days... But I'm going to go with a combination of sloppy tracking (AKA estimating as opposed to measuring) and over-eating on those days that I didn't track. And possibly forgetting snacks or something on days that I track retroactively.

12809 mysterious extra calories /31days = 413 unaccounted for calories/day (supposing I would have tracked that I ate equal to my BMR on those untracked days). But how do I miss over 400 calories a day?

Oh, another option for the difference is that Spark's estimate for my calories burned through activity is too generous, but I'm more inclined to think that this is user error...

Also...
July Fitness Minutes Goal: 1000
July Fitness Minutes Actual: 845

Yea... exactly...

Focus for August: Physical activity!

Fitness Goals:
1000 fitness minutes = 33 minutes/day average
60km on elliptical
- evenings while watching TV
- afternoons as soon as I get home
UFC Personal Training game 3x/week
Daily lunch walkies 3x/week+
Stretch properly 5+ minutes
Go for outside run 1x/week+
Most of these are carried over from the last several months, because, hey, apparently I just can't get started... still. Bah.

Plus nutritive goals:
Track on weekends
Avoid all my allergens.

I'm with the previous posters. Are you feeling a loss inch wise? I haven't been holding a lot of stock in the numbers alone. There are times I am a sweaty mess and go to track it and it has a really low number for cals. I know I worked it. I say go for those fitness goals and breathe:) Also with you on the addressing the allergens. You and I both know that they can contribute to bloat. I need to get a handle on em. Kind of been slacking on them lately. Have been back to occasional morning stomach issues (TMI but true) and I am kind of puffy.
Keep drinking the water too. I find that helps me flush that stuff out of me:)

We can do it babe! This is the month!!!

When I first started really paying attention to the numbers, like you are, I was so depressed because my results were very similar. I had to realize that my body is not a calculator. Calories in and calories out and the number of calories in a pound just never added up for me.

Are you measuring inches, too? I see more difference there than on the scale, usually. It is frustrating, but don't be too hard on yourself. Logic dictates that it will happen. For you and me both :)

emoticon it's tough when you're not seeing results you want on the scale...remember muscle weighs more than fat...maybe you are gaining muscle mass. Good luck with your goal this month.!!! emoticon
