So you might read the title and are ready to comment all kinds of bad things to this blog about how horrible fasting is and how I shouldn't restrict my calories and yadda yadda.
But hear me out...
Intermittent fasting is not a calorie restricting fast. I eat all my calories in a day.
WHAT'S THIS?! *brain explodes and leaks out of ear*
It's true, Intermittent fasting (or IF for sort) is just changing WHEN you eat, NOT how much you eat. I can eat my full 1,200-1,500 calories in a day, but instead of spreading them out into 5-6 meals or even 3 meals a day, I can eat them all within a 5-8 hour window... And I "fast" for the other 16-19 hours.
16-19 hours might seem like a reeeeal long time to not eat, but calculate in the fact that I sleep 8-11 hours every night and that counts as "fasting" during that time as well.
I get to eat between 1pm to 6pm every day, 2-3 big meals every 1 and a half or so hours. meals that satisfy me, not leave me feeling less than half full and tapping my fingers waiting for when my next meal is.
Yeah, stomach growling, hallow belly feeling is kind of annoying, but somehow makes me feel more energized. I know I'm not starving myself, I'm getting all my calories and nutrients that my body needs to function, I'm just refraining from eating them all spread out during the day.
I have seen a lot of testimonial videos on Youtube to prove that it does help for fat loss in all kinds of different people of different shapes, sizes, genders and races.
The Hodge twins made this style of eating popular, but are not the creator of IF. Here's a video of them talking about fat loss, healthy eating and exercise:
