New Month - New Goals

Happy August, Spark Friends!

Hope all is well in SP world. My little corner has been a bit hectic with a family event that finally happened over this past weekend! Why is it that big family events, or holidays for that matter, always seem to bring out the worst in some people? Or perhaps it's just my crazy family (my dh & dd excluded.)LOL! Despite the blood, sweat & tears of preparing for this event, it turned out beautifully. E-X-H-A-L-E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!! What a relief....!
And at this party, I also was re-acquainted with an old school friend who happens to be training for this year's Chicago Marathon. It was fun hearing about his training regime. I told him about SP & I hope he joins. :)

Anyway, I am happy to report that I am consistently running each week. I have yet to start that MMA/Strength/Cardio program I mentioned in the last installment. I must say that it has me terribly intimidated. But this is the 1st goal on my "to do" list.
Goal # 2 is to follow through with a new month Challenge (by an amazing Sparkie - NATPLUMMER) to drop 5 lbs & Goal # 3 is to get 1500 minutes of exercise logged in this month.

A couple things that made my day: A very good friend of mine who was sick & tired of being inactive & overweight just informed me that I inspired her to do something about it! Every day, she's been building up her cardio endurance slowly, but surely. This mother of 3 has been making it a point to take time out of her busy schedule to make time for herself. Good for her!! Next step is to get her on SP!

Another friend of mine on FB has successfully lost 20lbs & has maintained it this summer because she said I inspired her to change her lifestyle. I think I'm getting a bit misty... She's also on my list to get on SP! What a feeling it is to be a positive force in someone's life. It's priceless.

Tomorrow AM, I am going to run my 1 mile SP Virtual Race. Wish me luck! I know I can do it.

    Way to go! Love it!

I'm walking my official SP 5k race on Saturday, although I hit the 5-week goal on that program weekend before last & logged my final 5k training exercise.

Who knows, maybe my next will be run 5k?!

    Family events can be stressful and fun at the same time. Sounds like you are doing great, Good luck on your race tomorrow. I am sure you will do fine!
