Day 3

Wednesday, August 01, 2012

So today is the third day of my improved eating plan.
Not sure how I am feeling about everything but I am trying hard.
The plan is to be plant based. For me I have decided that that means eliminating dairy and red meat and consuming only limited amounts of fish, poultry and egg whites.
My choice of this particular approach is that it really should drop my cholesterol greatly.
I am also being careful to limit my grains a bit. I am having oatmeal and some other whole grains but overall much less.
Monday on day one I did have a white bun which is really not part of my plan but I was out at a friends home and sometimes you do what must be done.
Yesterday I had popcorn and too many tortilla chips.
Today I samples a 1/4 of a muffin.
This is reading like a confessional but I am trying to be pretty accountable and honest.
Not sure how this will pan out long term but I am making a solid effort.

Sounds like you are doing well. Oats are actually good for bringing down cholesterol so don't cut them out altogether.

Best wishes with your plan. Hope you find what works best for you. Just wonder why you are giving up skim milk. That wouldn't hurt your cholestrol. If you have good reason to give up the dairy, you'll probably need calcium supplement.

My cholestrol came down from 229 when I weighed over 200 pounds to 159 at 129 pounds. I drink lots of skim milk. Again, best wishes.

We all have things that we need to do and sometimes it's just
best to do it, forget it and get on with life. It's not the small things
so much as the accumulation of small things where they become
big things.

Honesty is the best policy...especially being honest with one's self. Each day is a new clean slate to improve on. I know you can do this... emoticon

It should lower your cholesterol. Make sure you get the protein you need. I would have to read up to make sure Nutritional needs were being met. Good luck to you and keep blogging. It is helpful to stay accountable. emoticon
