Good morning dear sparkers!
The journey to Helvetia (as the old citizens call it) continues. After visiting Geneva, the lake Leman,Lausanne and Ouchy, we are now in the day number four and of we go for the wonderful region of Jura!
Jura is a mountain or better a sierra at the west side of Switzerland and it belongs both in France and Switzerland.
It s a green, not so high as the Alps mountain, known to the Celts, the Romans, the Seigneurs of Middle Age and Bonaparte himself!
In this area you can find monuments of all these cultures.
The road is great and you pray for the day not to come to the end!
First stop the Chateau de Grandson.
You may have realized that I love castles and I am passionate of history.
The catapult and the tent are originals!!!
The castle from the inside.
It s lunch time!!!
In the center it s the river Doubs (does anyone has read "The red and the black" of Stendhal? That s the place!). On the left it s Switzerland. On the right of the river it s France.
French houses and Swiss meadows!
The same as above.
The beauty of Jura, the river Doubs.
Saint Ursanne upon Doubs.
The most beautiful village of Douds, known since 500 AD.
The Lady of Saint Ursanne aka Christina aka the driver , after 8 hours of driving through Jura!
Walking in the streets of Saint Ursanne.
Our hotel at St.Ursanne.
The view from my window.
This was only the day number four, because I have a lot of stuff . Tomorrow it s the Rheinfall, the cascade of Rhein.
I hope you like it as I liked when I was there.
