Fitness Minutes Anger

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

I have done it once and I've done it again. I enter the amount of minutes I have done a specific exercise and the tracker does not give me credit for it all.

Today I was working once again in my mothers backyard. There is plenty of overgrowth that is needed to be taken down. I was there from 1pm until 7pm. I actually worked for 4hrs and 15mins or 255mins. When I add these minutes to my fitness tracker it only gives me credit for 120mins. The same thing has happened over and over and I'm really upset.

In the past I have emailed support and haven't gotten a response. Has anyone else had these issues? Has anyone ever received any response for anything from support?

Thank you. Take care and stay healthy

Mike

I finally found a reason given by Spark for the limit in the number of minutes they allow per day. Here is a link:

I am a fitness instructor. So I work out a lot of hours. However, Spark has always only given credit for 120 minutes or 2 hours.

I believe their intent is not to encourage over exercising. Of course, when working in the yard or something like that, you work more than 2 hours. However, someone going to the gym can become addicted to exercise and work out too much just like someone can become anorexic. It's a type of disorder. Some people feel if they eat extra calories they can correct it by spending a lot of extra time on the treadmill or elliptical. Spark doesn't want to reward this type of behavior.

(At least that is the reason I think they only give credit for 2 hours exercise a day. I've never asked. I just assumed this is the reason.)

No matter what they give credit for, you know you worked hard and burned alot of calories. Just don't do it every day and become addicted!

Oh no, that stinks. I have not had that happen. I even entered Saturdays walking at the fair on here. and it took all of that. I kinda felt weird entering the walking but I was on my feet for a good 8-9 hours and walking at a good pace and thought I would put it in. At least maybe I burned off one cheese fry... Maybe :) Sorry it is being sucj a stinker for you

Hey Mike. No, I don't think I've ever had this problem, at least not that I've realized. I do however remember Yoovie (I'm sure you know her) mentioning this before. I think it must happen when you have a very high number in one day or something.
Either way, keep up the great work, I'm proud of you!!!

Hugs,
Beth

P.S. Happy August!!
