I let mine go back in 1981 and was surprised when he came back in 1990 and hasn't left. Sometimes you don't recognize what you have, until it's no longer there.
I made the mistake of trying to make a really close friendship into to romantic relationship. It ruined both. And I felt I had no choice but to end it. I'm heartbroken.
Yes that has happened to me a LOT- you meet someone who you would like to be friends with and it just DOES NOT CLICK no matter how hard you try. Sad really.
