I missed my morning walk/work out yesterday morning due to a total inability to sleep Sunday night. All day I debated going for a walk and doing my workout, but then I blinked and it was 5pm and time to go to work.
I only worked until 930 fortunately, and by the time I got home I had resolved to go for my walk and get my workout in. So, I invited my bf along with me and I found that I was pushing myself harder. I wanted to show him up, be more in shape than him.
Once we got back from the walk, I asked if he wanted to do the strength training with me too. I'm currently doing the 100 push-ups, squats, and sit-ups challenges and I do some other exercises as well (reverse crunches, back extension).
I found that I was really pushing myself then too. I wanted to beat him, just because he always says "Oh well I'm stronger than you blah blah blah". Sure, you may be stronger than me, but I just did 5 more push-ups than you did. I did 12 more reverse crunches, and 5 more squats.
It's so terrible haha, but it made me really push myself. I did 3 sets of reverse crunches (instead of my regular two), I did 30 extra squats...crazy!
Sure hun, you may be "stronger than me" in the sense that you can lift bricks and I can't. But I'm definitely more in shape than you! :)
I challenged him to do it again with me Wednesday night. Hahaha.
