I started my day with a crazy, sweaty, high octane workout that I absolutely loved! And it didn't even require a gym
. No seriously, I did
. I have been stalling on my weight loss this week and I figured it was because I have gotten much too comfortable with my workouts. My workouts were no longer "work" so in fact, they weren't working. No matter how long you exercise in a day, I truly believe that if your body is familiar with the routine, it won't work as hard. When my sister and I first started our journey together two and a half months ago, we used to go to the high school football track. We would either walk/jog laps
, do circuits in the center of the field, or climb op and down the stadium steps
. We slowly got away from that and then we began going to bootcamp. Now bootcamp is tough and it is effective but there is not nearly enough cardio to satisfy me so we typically walk in the mornings for a few miles to get that in. This morning was different. I surprised Sie by pulling up to Burke Stadium. She did not look happy or enthuised. As soon as we hit the track, I started in with our routine. It went like this:
- Run up and down set of stadium steps. When you reach the bottom, run across to the next set and repeat. There are 4 sets of stairs on each side of the stadium.
-Sprint across the football field to the other set of stadium stairs and repeat step one. Remember to run!!
-Jog one lap around track (1/4 mile). Do not stop. If you stop, do ten toe/knee/skies or burpees and continue until you finish.
-Walk a half lap to cool down and then head to the 30 yard line (can be any yard marker).
-Bear crawl to half field. Finish the other half with high kicks.
-Bear crawl back to half field. Finish wih low squats.
-Jog a lap to cool down.
This only took 45 minutes and I burned 500 calories on the nose. The steps do wonders for you, especially if you have intensity and run rather than walk. Good luck and remember to
