I know that i am still at the beginning again with only 2 months back, but i'm learning soooo much! I really have struggled with thinking that certain things were off limits on a diet or certain things were just not a good choice if you were trying to lose! But what i'm learning especially if you're willing to lose at a slower pace, is a lifestyle change compared to a "diet" Ugh! I still hate that word! (diet)!
I'm learning to incorporate more fruits and veggies and drink more water, and be consistent with my exercise (overall) but, I'm also learning to not be afraid to eat normal foods that i would have eaten before with my family. Sometimes i am using less sugar, or less fat, or less salt in my ingredients... but sometimes i just eat normal... just a smaller amount, with more fruits and veggies!!! I AM NOT PERFECT! OH MY! but this is a HUGE breakthrough for me!
I really didn't think i could lose weight this way but i am! I really don't feel deprived at all! Again i'm not losing fast... but i'm losing! :)
THE BIGGEST THING FOR ME... counting calories! COUNTING CALORIES has freed me to choose what i want to eat and then ENJOY every bite! Really! when I am accounting for the calories and logging them I don't even think about them while i eat... I just enjoy!
Matter of fact one thing that kept me from logging my food was logging all the details of every food. I have now started succeeding by just logging the calories and not worrying about the rest... at least for now. It's helped me stay accountable and log everything. The only thing i log if the food is not already in the system is: the food name, serving amount, and calorie count! It's just working for me!
