Runing before painting

Monday, July 30, 2012

I took last week off from exercising because I finally mustered up the courage to do something about the contractor white on white theme of our new home.

It will be a year at the end of August that we're in the house and it was time to get brave and make a bold move, hoping for beautiful.

Win some. Lose some.

So the kitchen/dinette turned out orange. At least I never fell off the ladder or off the counter tops as I stood on tippy-toes to reach the ceiling.

They boys love it! They say it reminds them of our favorite Mexican food restaurant in CT - not the look I was going for...

I'm going to take another crack at it this week, but I couldn't take another week off from exercising, so I got up early, ran a 5K, got the house moving in the right direction and get back to it.

I'm sorry I haven't been a very good SP team this past week. I'm still in the game!

Grace,
Elisabeth

Hind sight is always 20/20! Wish I had done as much with the orange...

You are wise to buy sample cans of paint. That way, you eliminate them one by one. Best wishes!

Painting--that is exercise. Hope your family appreciates what you did and glad to see you did run today. emoticon

The photo doesn't do it justice. It's a true pumpkin, although the name of the paint was "allspice".

Should have been an indicator right there.

I just bought several little sample cans of paint to testing out various areas in the two rooms (kitchen/dinette) and will let the light hit them for 24 hours before I commit to the "take two" round.

Hmm, I like it and agree with LookingUp2012 that it looks like a warm butterscotch in the photo. Must read different in person. Have fun painting and post pics of the new color. emoticon

Lovely picture. The color looks butterscotch in the pic. I like it. warm and cozy. May be different in person. Sparking does take a lot of time. I always feel like it is worth the time to record food and exercise on busy days. Sometimes I don't get to the food part. Enjoy those boys!
