Hello Spark people. I am gradually putting my spark page back up, after my little stress induced vacation into “overweight” and even a short trip to “obese” according to the BMI. When I first used spark I got to “normal” for the first time in my life since they created the darned body mass index. I used spark for a while back then, and stayed “normal” for over four years. I am a long term weight watchers member. I am also a member of the national weight control registry because of my efforts in the early 1980’s when I went from 365 pounds to something like I am today (which is Overweight :)::) ) Still. Overweight is a marvelous place to be compared to morbidly obese. I eat from stress. I have been like the ocean - when things get stressful my weight goes up, then as I resolve issues it goes back down. When SparkPeople was created I found a way to get the help I need without losing a bunch of my bank account.
Weight watchers is great, but kind of costly when one is not at goal. I am a lifetime member from my “normal” period, and I am planning to go back there, with the help of Spark.
Even though I have drifted up and down, I have never been back into the 300’s since the 1980’s. This time I caught myself slipping when I was just barely 200, and I am so grateful for that. I am looking to resolve this, to calm the waters. I am taking a new tactic this time. I plan to fix my life stresses so that they are bearable, manageable. My plan is to use Spark to be sure I get a good healthy diet (the nutrition pages) and to let my body go to the weight it will be from eating that diet and exercising. So far the weight is coming off at about a pound a week. I think that is great, fast for an almost 64 year old lady. I began again in April of this year, and came back to spark in July. I am glad to be back
