This is significant. In my "fat suit" I would only wear a skirt when I also had a body shaper on. The body shaper wasn't as much for battling the bulges as much as it was for stopping my thighs from hitting each other and chaffing.
Yesterday I wore a skirt. I didn't wear a body shaper or any shorts. I just put on the skirt and went. I didn't worry as much about how much I'd be sweating or having my thighs rub. Granted I knew I wouldn't be doing as much walking around, I knew I'd be sitting most of the time, but even there my thighs didn't bother each other.
Most of the time I wear pants to avoid the thigh rub, but I find more and more often I don't need to. My thighs don't fight like they used to. They are getting to be friends instead of siblings that fight all the time. They leave each other the space they need. They aren't jarring anymore. They simply exist in the same space.
Now I know I can wear a skirt and not have to worry. I can look good and be confident in a skirt. No more worrying about having to find shorts to go under them.
I will be wearing more skirts.
